What you need to know

How are you able to distinguish light sailing mode from operational mode?

Our proprietary software analyzes AIS data and identifies ship assist patterns. We first recognize operational times, and all remaining sailing time is classified as light sailing, which is where we focus on fuel savings.

What if in our port, currents significantly impact sailing speeds?

We account for that by converting Speed Over Ground (AIS data) into Speed Through Water using a conversion function in our software. For this adjustment, we require current level data in addition to AIS data.

We already have a speed alert system—what does your product add?

Many ports use speed alerts, but we have yet to see an example where they effectively reduce sailing speeds. Instead of reprimanding captains for individual trips, our approach empowers them with data-driven insights to gradually and sustainably reduce speeds over time.

Are any investments or technical upgrades required for this product?

No. We only use AIS data, and our proprietary software handles the rest. No additional hardware or software investment is required.

How quickly can we expect results?

Most operators notice a reduction in excessive speeding within two months, leading to immediate fuel and emission savings.
